At Prescott College, we believe students
are capable of determining how best to organize and conduct their
education. Most students who enter college know best how they learn.
We encourage students to create educational experiences that maximize
their unique learning styles. The faculty at Prescott College are
highly skilled at assisting and guiding students on their educational
journey.
We believe students can
have a profound, positive impact on the world. At Prescott College,
students are valuable and highly capable resources. They are encouraged
to get involved in improving those issues concerning them. We ask
students to examine their relationships with the environment and
other people. Prescott College students gain an understanding of
the world and an appreciation for how to effect positive change.
They create and execute projects that have a direct positive impact
on the world in which we live.
Prescott College maintains
a strong commitment to the ideals of building and maintaining a
community where everyone is respected and appreciated for his or
her unique contributions. Prescott College is a rich broth of individuals
who have come together to help form a community that is accepting
and supportive. We have a relatively small student body, and encourage
people to get to know each other.
There are no numbers at
Prescott College; we all have names, interests, capabilities, and
challenges. For the past 35 years, those of us lucky enough to be
connected to Prescott College have maintained our focus on providing
superior education in a unique and responsive academic environment.
Students at Prescott College acquire the knowledge to understand
their world and the skills necessary to help maintain and improve
it.
Warmest Regards,
Daniel E. Garvey, Ph.D.
