Completing a Master’s degree
is one of the best investments in oneself and one's future that an individual can make. A Master’s degree brings many advantages: it helps students increase their earnings at current jobs, eases their transition into a new job or field, provides them with a basis for their pursuit of a doctoral degree, and provides personal fulfillment.
Prescott College makes every attempt to ensure that all qualified students are financially able to enroll in the College, given individual eligibility. Prescott College participates with the federal government in offering all forms of Title IV federal aid along with institutional and state grants, federal load funds, and institutional work-study funds. Students enrolling for a minimum of six semester credits may qualify for financial aid. Only students who are seeking a degree or teacher certification are eligible for federal financial aid.
Full-time tuition is charged by the semester, which is five months. Full-time students may take 12-15 semester credits during the semester. Part-time students enrolled from 6-11 credits will be charged per credit hour.

Payment
Students must pay the required application and transcript fees at or before orientation; they are not covered by financial aid. It is the student's responsibility to check with the Financial Aid Office prior to orientation to verify his or her financial aid status and determine the balance owed at registration. Students expecting financial aid to cover their tuition must have a guaranteed financial aid award in place by orientation. Those who do not have financial aid in place must pay in cash. Students may contact the Business Office for information about payment plan options at 877-350-2100 ext. 4000.
Students pay their own travel, food, and accommodation expenses for the weekend colloquia. Students assume all costs for mailing study packets to their graduate advisors, as well as providing postage-paid, return envelopes for the advisor's use. Additional academic costs that may be incurred are the responsibility of the student.
Applying for Financial Aid
The financial aid process begins with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Prescott College School code is 012659. Students need to file a FAFSA every academic year. New FAFSAs become available January 1. Students are strongly encouraged to apply early to ensure financial aid is in place by the tuition deadline.
Prescott College considers a full-time student as enrolled for at least 12 semester credits per five-month enrollment period. Financial aid awards are subject to change when students take a leave of absence or carry fewer than six semester credits during an enrollment period an/or fail to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Scholarships
Prescott College offers a number of merit-based and need-based scholarships each year. Some are based on merit alone and others consider financial need as well as merit and recognized accomplishments. Applicants should click here for more detailed scholarship information. The Admissions Office $2,000 Annual Scholarship is awarded to a new MAP applicant who completes his or her admissions file by the scholarship deadline (November 15 for spring, May 15 for fall) and receives a superior rating on his or her admission application.
Loans
For Federal Stafford Loans, the student must be a U.S. citizen (or permanent resident) and a degree-seeking student. Eligibility is determined by the FAFSA. Subsidized loan amounts are $8,500. Unsubsidized loan amounts are $10,000.
GradPLUS Loans are for graduate students who are enrolled at least half-time. The student may borrow up to the cost of attendance minus any other financial aid. Students who are not degree-seeking may apply for these. For more information visit www.edfund.org/wps/portal/loanportal.
Private Education Loans are credit-based education loans. Terms and conditions are set by individual lenders. The student may borrow up to the cost of attendance minus any other financial aid. Students who are not degree seeking may apply for these. More information is available here.
