Areas of Study

Prescott College's liberal arts curriculum offers small classes, extensive field work, a close community atmosphere, a student to faculty ratio of 10:1 in classes and as low as 5:1 in the field, and the opportunity for students to design their own educational path. Prescott College’s curriculum is organized into the following multi-disciplinary programs:

Advising documents for each area of study are available here.

Competence and Breadth: Majors and Minors at Prescott College

At Prescott College students design an individualized, unique program of study. While these competencies and breadths stem from the six areas of study, oftentimes, students combine one or more for their education. For example, a student studying Multicultural Education could take classes in Education and Human Development. A student with a competence in Wilderness Leadership might combine coursework from Adventure Education and Environmental Studies, and a student studying Art and Nature as Political Expression might take classes in Arts and Letters, Environmental Studies, and Cultural and Regional Studies.
