Administration & Support Services

A variety of administrative units and support services exist to support the learning and service mission of the College.  For more information on these units and support services, visit their website or contact the unit director. 

The Office of the Executive Vice President

Steven M Corey is the Executive Vice President of the College.  The Executive Vice President is the chief administrative and financial officer of the College.  The areas within the Executive Vice President's responsibility include: financial services, financial aid, facilities, human resources, campus safety and security, transportation, institutional research and technology, office of the registrar, strategic planning, sponsored programs and research, auxiliary services, legal affairs, marketing and public relations, the Center for Extended Studies and Lifelong Learning, and fund development.

 

The Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is the governing authority for Prescott College.  The Trustees are individuals from around the country with a variety of backgrounds and experiences.  The Board includes alumni, friends, parents of former students, as well as representatives from the students, faculty, and staff.  

 

College Policies

Policy formulation, issuance, and cataloguing is coordinated by the Office of the Executive Vice President.  This office works closely with the Executive Policy Group who gives initial and final approval to each policy prior to its dissemination. 

While the web site is considered to be the most current and reliable version of College policy, a hard copy of all college policies is also maintained by the following offices:

The Office of Facilities Management

The Office of Facilities Management, under the direction of the Director of Facilities, is responsible for campus facilities planning, development, and maintenance; custodial services; campus safety and security; and transportation.   To facilitate your facilities requests or to reserve your college vehicle, visit the following sites:

The Office of Human Resources

The Office of Human Resources is committed to facilitating employee success and to supporting the goals and objectives of the College through employee success.  The HR site provides a variety of information, documents, and forms intended to make information readily available and convenient for college employees (Some sections of this site are password protected).

 

The Office of Institutional Research & Technology (IRT)

The Office of Institutional Research & Technology is responsible for creating and implementing plans and strategies for supporting and enhancing the College's data and communications capabilities. Responsibilities include installation, operation and maintenance of the College's academic, business and financial management hardware, software and networks.

The Office of Marketing and Public Relations

The Office of Marketing and Public Relations is the source of information about Prescott College for the public and the media. The office publicizes events that are open to the public and works with newspapers, magazines and other media to generate stories featuring the college ’s programs, activities and faculty and staff. The office responds to requests from reporters for experts on a variety of subjects.

The Marketing and Public Relations Office also is responsible for a number of publications.  These include:

Any college organization, student, staff or faculty member can request publicity for an event or other news by filling out an online form.

 

Sponsored Programs and Research

Sponsored Programs and Research encompasses a variety of programs and activities which compliment and enhance the mission of Prescott College.  These programs operate through funding provided from their programmatic and research activities, while at the same time connecting to and facilitating the learning and service mission of the College. 

Sponsored research at Prescott College has been supported by funding from a variety of governmental and private foundation sources, including: The National Science Foundation (NSF), The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), The US Forest Service, The US Army/Department of Defense, The Sierra Club, The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and many others. 

The Institutes and Centers housed within the Sponsored Programs and Research area include:

Strategic Planning

The Prescott College Strategic Plan is a comprehensive, collaborative, cross-campus plan for guiding current and future action.  The most recent strategic plan was completed in the 2005-06 academic year.    

 

The Office of the Registrar

The Office of the Registrar facilitates and houses an accurate history of students' academic career at Prescott College. Students register for classes and apply for transcripts in this location.  The office also certifies graduation, issues diplomas, and sets and upholds academic policy.

The HLC Reaccreditation Self-Study

The College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).  The College is currently engaged in preparation for the HLC site visit, to take place on November 2-4, 2009.  Find out information on this process.
