The Prescott College Strategic Plan is a comprehensive, collaborative, cross-campus plan for guiding current and future action. The most recent strategic plan was completed in the 2005-06 academic year. For more information on strategic planning, contact the Office of the Chief Operating Officer at 928-350-4100 or via email.
The 2010 Committee
With the competion of the 2006 Strategic Plan, the College successfully identified its priorities and charted its direction. However, it became clear that the College knew where it was headed, but needed further leadership and guidance regarding changes that might be necessary for it to successfully achieve the priorities set forth in the strategic plan by the year 2010. The President, rather than chart these changes for himself, decided to empower a representative group from across the College to consider the priorities contained within the strategic plan and propose recommendations that the College community could consider. The Final Report of the 2010 Committee, issued March 23, 2007, is the culmination of that work.
The 2006 Strategic Plan
Throughout the 2005-06 academic year, the College was engaged in a revisioning, leading to a new strategic plan. This process resulted in a summary document which identified the overarching themes which resulted from the work of students, faculty, staff, and the Board of Trustees.

Key Questions Guiding the Plan
1. What are the three most important goals/changes your group would like to see achieved within your area during the next five years?
1a. What ongoing process do/will you use to insure the activities of your group are achieving your intended goals?
2. What are the three most important changes you’d like to see in the College, outside your particular area?
Key Assumptions to be Incorporated in the Plan
- We want to increase the diversity of our community and promote increased access to the College.
- We want to support excellence in learning and scholarship and be known for our academic programs.
- We want to improve our physical plant, technological infrastructure, and support systems to help create positive learning environments and healthy communities that meet the technology challenges of the future.
- Any intended change must be financially sustainable, meaning not only that necessary enrollment growth must be achieved, but also that any “need” must be defended in terms of how that need improves the sustainability of the College.
Support Pages for Unit/Area Working Plans
While the summary document identifies the overarching themes for the College as a whole, each stakeholder group and their component subgroups generated unit-level plans that guide their work. The following links lead to the working areas for unit/area plans. Members of the College community are encouraged to review unit plans outside of their area in order to better inform the planning process and the integration of unit plans.
