Resolution
In September 2002, following more than a year of planning, the Prescott
College Board of Trustees unanimously passed a resolution authorizing the
design and
construction of a multi-use facility that models Prescott College’s commitment
to social and environmental responsibility.
Vision
The Crossroads Center will enable Prescott College to constructively engage
the campus and the greater world in teaching, research and discussion about
the various challenges and opportunities facing our local and global communities.
The Crossroads Center will serve as the central gathering point for Prescott
College’s learning community through integration of the information
commons (library), café, technology, classrooms, and social spaces.
In addition, the Crossroads Center will function as a conference services
facility integrated with the daily needs of the College’s academic
enterprise. The Crossroads Center will provide the College with the following
new space to support a wide variety of functions:
- Information Commons (integration of Library with technological and social
functions)
- Campus Café
- Classrooms
- Social Spaces
- Quiet Spaces
- Multifunctional Meeting Space
- Outdoor Amphitheater
- Administrative Spaces
