Scholarship Name:   Collegenet Scholarship Election

Eligibility:  
If you're a college student (or planning to be one within the next year), you'll be able to set up a profile and post to discussion forums. If others like what you say, they'll vote for you. If you like what they say, you can vote for them. Casting and receiving votes earns you points. If the total points you earn during the month places you as one of the top four candidates, you win a scholarship.
Award Amount:  

First Place - $4000, Second Place - $3000, Third Place - $2000, Fourth Place - $1000

Scholarship Name:   The Sunshine Lady Foundation:  Women’s Independence Scholarship Program
Deadline:   Ongoing – At least two months before the start date of your academic program
Eligibility:  

- Survived domestic violence (partner abuse) and is a citizen or legal resident of the United States of America

- Officially accepted into an accredited course of study at a United States post-secondary institution

- Demonstrates a critical need for financial assistance

- Exhibits strong desire, ability and determination to complete a training and/or academic program

- Has a definate plan to use the desired training to upgrade skills for career advancement, to train for a new career field, or to enter or reenter the job market

- Is sponsored by a non-profit domestic violence service agency willing to mentor and provide support for the student throughout her educational experience.

Scholarship Name:   Disbabled American Veteran's, Chapter 16 Scholarship Fund

On-going

Eligibility:  

- Son/Daughter or spouse of a Disabled American Veteran

- Between the ages of 18 and 26 (for son/daughter)

- Resident of Arizona

Award Amount:  

$2,000 yearly

Scholarship Name:   AES Engineers Scholarship
Deadline:   Around September of each year.
Eligibility:  

- YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE TAKING ENGINEERING COURSES TO BE ELLIGIBLE.

- Be a high school senior or be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution.

Award Amount:   $500
How to Apply:   Students must submit an essay of no more than 1000 words in answer to one of the two questions posted on the provider's website. See provider's website for details.

Scholarship Name:  

Cross-Cultural Experience Scholarship - Crop Science Society of America

This scholarship allows for self-nominations

Deadline:   October 21, 2008
Eligibility:  

- Open to an undergraduate student majoring in soil, crops and agronomy, or closely related sciences.

- Must have completed their freshman, sophomore, or junior year by the end of Spring term 2008.

- Preference will be given to a student that is a member of an SASES affiliated club.

- Preference will be given to universities that have not had students previously participating in this program.

- Preference will be given to a study abroad experience that is conducted for 4 or more weeks.

Award Amount:   $2,500

Scholarship Name:   Anchor Environmental Scholarship
Deadline:   Around November of each year.
Eligibility:  

- Be a full time graduate student or accepted into an accredited gradual school in the United States

- Must have an undergraduate GPA equivalent of B average or higher.

-Majoring in:  fisheries; environmental sciences; planning/land use; landscape architecture; or coastal, geotechnical or environmental engineering (any of which has an eqatic/waterfront emphasis).

Award Amount:   $500 - $5,000
