Gregory Nixon a professor of education at Prescott College, is featured
in the Nov./Dec. 1999 Journal of Curriculum Studies. His Op-Ed piece, "Whatever
happened to 'heightened consciousness'?" presents different viewpoints
relating to political and individual-based curriculum theory. The Journal
of Curriculum Studies publishes papers that address issues of theory, policymaking
and practice in all areas of curriculum and teaching for elementary and secondary
schools, and of teacher education for schools.
