PRESCOTT COLLEGE ANNOUNCES SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL FUND
Prescott College's 1998-1999 Annual Fund Campaign raised $197,359 according
to Rod Ossowski, director of annual giving at the college. This makes the
1998-99 campaign the second most successful annual fund in the college's
thirty-four year history, topped only by last year's record setting fund
of $218,914. It also brings the Prescott College Annual Fund total to more
than $558,000 raised over the last three years.
"This is a wonderful indication of the new financial health of the
institution and of the growing financial investment that our alumni, parents
and friends are now making in the college," said Ossowski.
In addition to the success of the annual fund, the college also raised almost
$20,000 in 1998-99 through a special "Parents Library Campaign" that
was used to purchase over 300 volumes for the college's new library (the
former Marler's furniture building), and over $17,000 in new scholarships.
A highlight of the 1998-99 annual fund was the dramatic rise in alumni support
to the college. A 76 percent increase in alumni participation and alumni
dollars was realized, according to Ossowski. Currently, 338, or about 6 percent,
of Prescott College's 5,707 living alumni are active donors to the college.
This figure is up from 192 alumni donors the previous year.
Last year the Prescott College Annual Fund was honored as "most improved
annual fund" among colleges and universities of its size, by the Council
for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). The 1999-2000 Prescott College
Annual Fund is already underway, having received several major gifts, and
with a fund raising goal of $240,000.
