Prescott College recently received a 10-year reaccreditation
from the Commission on Institutions of Higher Learning of the North
Central Association of Colleges
and Schools (NCA). Ten years is the maximum number of years a college
can be accredited.
For the past three years, Prescott College has been engaged in a process
of self-study, addressing the Commission's requirements and criteria for
accreditation.
Prescott College was first accredited by the Commission in 1966 and is accredited
at the bachelor's and master's degree level. The Commission on Institutions
of Higher Education is one of six accrediting agencies in the United States
that provides institutional accreditation on a regional basis. The Commission
accredits approximately 950 institutions of higher education in a nineteen-state
region.
