Dr. Margaret Carlock-Russo, ATR-BC, ATCS is a registered, and board-certified art therapist. She has experience as an educator, clinical art therapist and assistant school principal. Margaret’s interest areas are working with individuals and groups, program development, and higher education. Most of Margaret’s initial clinical experience was gained working in school and after school environments where she developed several art therapy and creative arts programs. She also has extensive experience working with adults with dementia. Most recently, Margaret developed Chroma Soul Arts, an organization focused on providing virtual and in-person creative arts community groups and retreats, addressing issues of self-esteem, social connection, self-care, aging, prevention, and wellness. Margaret has worked extensively with individuals and groups of all ages, engaged in program development, graduate education, and is a certified art therapy supervisor. She is also a past president of the American Art Therapy Association (AATA). Margaret finds creative connection through spending time in natural surroundings and engages in her own artistic practice primarily through pottery, pastel drawing, and collage. As a clinical faculty member at Prescott College, Margaret coordinates and teaches in the Expressive Arts Therapy Post Master’s Certificate Program and teaches in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling MS Program. Margaret actively engages in art therapy advocacy at the state and national levels and provides consultation, workshops, and presentations globally.
