Overview
Prescott College continues to develop a global partnership network to support immersive, place-based learning across our undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. Building on decades of deep engagement at our field campuses in Kino Bay, Mexico and the Dopoi Center in Kenya, we are cultivating a dynamic ecosystem of collaborative sites and institutions that share our commitment to place-based, experiential, and transdisciplinary education.

Global Partners, indicated by the gold pin, are partner organizations, colleges, universities, and learning centers, connected to the college through agreements and consortia memberships and available to students to engage with in a variety of ways.

Prescott College Center for Nature & Place
The Center for Nature & Place provides opportunities and support for student research on the effectiveness of nature and place-based early childhood teacher education and outdoor learning activities in order to add to current professional knowledge in the field.

Prescott College Dopoi Center

The Dopoi Center is a Prescott College field station in rural East Africa which houses joint efforts of Prescott College students and faculty and activists of the Maasai Indigenous community to promote cultural survival and environmental justice in Maasailand.

Prescott College Kino Bay Center

The Kino Bay Center is Prescott College’s binational field station dedicated to biocultural conservation through education, community, science and knowledge exchange.

Walnut Creek Center for Education & Research (WCCER)
Prescott National Forest, AZ
Founded in 1998, The Walnut Creek Center for Education and Research (WCCER) is a partnership between Prescott College, Northern Arizona University, Natural History Institute in Prescott, and Prescott National Forest. Students of all ages visit the facility and participate in various educational activities and research programs.

Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME)

Learning Center in the Peruvian Amazon
Siendo Naturaleza comprises three integrated initiatives for the regeneration of place, people and planet, woven together with a golden thread of learning.
The way we design and facilitate learning has the same foundation, learning in nature, as nature, and the same pillars, for global and local learners.

The Bennington curriculum flexes to include courses driven by what is engaging faculty now, in the world and in their own practice as writers and artists and scientists and scholars. Students can get access to top tier equipment like nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopes, 3D printers, and studio cameras. University of Hearst (Université de Hearst)

The University of Hearst follows a block schedule, enabling students to focus on one course at a time, thus facilitating the integration and consolidation of their learning. Just a dozen post-secondary institutions in North America offer this benefit, and only the University of Hearst does it strictly in French. The block schedule also allows students to access outings in the field, which could last a day, a week, or the full block.

University of Redlands: Johnson Center for Integrative Studies

The Johnston Center offers a variety of classes every semester. Each year, faculty members work with Johnston students to create unique seminars that reflect student and faculty interests. Interdisciplinary seminars offered by Johnston faculty members enable students to explore methods of connecting their interests from several academic disciplines.

Westminster students experience the liberal arts blended with professional programs in an atmosphere dedicated to civic engagement. With the goal of guiding its graduates to just and successful lives, Westminster provides learning experiences that guarantee to be life-changing. Alaska Pacific University (APU)

Located on the land of the Dena’ina people, APU embeds Indigenous knowledge in all its courses and programs. The university is federally recognized as an Alaska Native-serving institution and attracts students from across Alaska and around the world. The diverse on-campus community of 550 students includes student-led clubs, an active Outdoor Programs department, and a regional Olympic training center for cross-country skiers.

College of the Atlantic (COA)

COA has an oceanfront campus, tucked between the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the mountains and trails of Acadia National Park just down the road on the other. The college includes two organic teaching farms and two remote island research stations. COA students craft their own interdisciplinary program of study centered around human ecology, and a human ecological perspective integrates knowledge from all academic disciplines and from personal experience to investigate the relationships between humans and our social and natural communities.

Dickinson University

Dickinson offers coursework across 22 disciplinary majors and 20 interdisciplinary majors, including 13 language programs, and more than 50% of students study abroad. The college includes a 50-acre farm, the Center for Sustainability Education, the Center for Global Education, the Community Studies Center and various athletic facilities. Dickinsonians are encouraged to develop intellectual independence and a passion for learning, and to explore how they can make a difference in their communities in informed, thoughtful and sustainable ways.

As the designated Honors College of Florida, New College offers rigorous academics, small class sizes, student evaluations that go beyond grades, and a learning environment that cultivates a culture of discovery through students’ independent study and senior thesis projects. New College offers nearly 40 undergraduate majors engaged in interdisciplinary research and collaborative learning, and it is the only liberal arts college in the nation with a marine science research center located on its main campus.

Northland College

Northland College is an environmental liberal arts college just blocks from Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in the world. Sustainability and the environment are interwoven with all parts of a Northland education, from general education through the completion of one of the College’s specialized academic programs.
