Jessie Emerson ’04
Jessie recently published a new book titled, “Herbal First Aid.” It combines information from her first book, “Medicine From the Kitchen,” with plants easily found in herb stores, natural growers, co-ops, and even your backyard. You can order a copy here.

Tracy L. Teuscher ’24
Tracy, the founder and President of The Buzz Maker, was recently selected as a Marquis Who’s Who Listee, recognized for Excellence in Public Relations and Leadership. They wrote, “…Teuscher has established herself as a leader in the profession and the community. Named among Ohio’s top public relations agencies, The Buzz Maker has served hundreds of brands and nonprofits with excellence.” Read more here.

Cody was recognized in a Signals article, “5 Interesting, Famous People From Prescott, Arizona,” for founding a survival skills school, writing two books on survival, and hosting Discovery Channel’s reality television shows “Dual Survival” and “Lost in the Wild” while attending Prescott College. Prescott College Faculty Members in recent Care More Do Better podcasts

Dr. Em Affolter
, program director and faculty member in the PhD in Sustainability Education degree program, recently appeared on the Care More Be Better: Social Impact—Sustainability—Regeneration podcast. In her episode, Rehumanizing Higher Education With Emily Alicia Affolter, PhD, she shares how to dismantle the destructive supremacy culture that leads to discrimination and instead incorporate a pedagogy of love into school curriculums to shape knowledgeable, responsible, and well-rounded individuals. Her ultimate goal is to promote equity in leadership roles and bring back the human aspect of higher education. Listen to the episode here.


Dr. Laid Christensen, the founding Director of Online Graduate Programs in Environmental Studies and Resilient and Sustainable Communities, recently appeared on the Care More Be Better: Overcoming Climate Anxiety Through Collaboration podcast. In his episode, Laird Christensen, PhD emphasizes the utmost need for collective action to create massive waves of change nationally and globally. He explains how to focus more on collaborative work among local communities and environmental activists and less on antagonistic conversations that only sow anger and dissent. Laird also stresses the importance of patience and the genuine desire to listen when amplifying personal impact dedicated to sustainability and regeneration. Give it a listen here.

Dr. Scott Ramsey inspires us to create a sustainable and just future through education. He explains how Blue Mind science is incorporated into their doctoral program in Sustainability Education. He talks about his foundation of the Alaska Outdoor Science School, which offers programs centered on social and environmental justice. Corinna Bellizzi, the Care More Do Better host, joined him in his course this past August. Tune into the episode here.

Dr. Emily Affolter, program director and faculty member in the Prescott College PhD in Sustainability Education degree program, recently joined Derek Bruff in Intentional Teaching’s podcast, “Culturally Responsive Teaching with Emily Affolter.” In the podcast, they discussed what culturally responsive teaching looks like, how to build trust with one’s students, the unique position an instructor has in fostering equity, how to work toward equity even in extensive lecture courses, and what it means to decolonize marine biology.
