Beyond the Classroom – Meet Your PhD Mentors

Join us for a 4-part online series designed for you to meet mentors from our PhD in Sustainability Education program.

Our first event–on April 9–will feature Dr. Emily Alicia Affolter, director of Prescott College’s Sustainability Education Ph.D. Program. Dr. Affolter specializes in equity pedagogy, culturally responsive teaching, and decolonizing research practices, drawing from her experience as a Senior Research Scientist and Equity Consultant at the University of Washington’s Center for Evaluation & Research for STEM Equity. With a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction focused on Multicultural Education and mentorship from Dr. Geneva Gay, she advances equity literacy in K-16 and STEM higher education, exploring climate justice through critical race and disability lenses while applying her expertise as a former Fulbright scholar in Mexico and Colombia.
