Learn More About Our MA in Outdoor Leadership – Virtual Event

Join us for another Outdoor Leadership Virtual Event on Tuesday, May 13th at 4:00 PM PST / 7:00 PM EST to connect with faculty, current students, and prospective peers in a dynamic, panel-style discussion.

📅 Date: Tuesday, May 13th
🕓 Time: 4:00 PM (PST) / 7:00 PM (EST)

This session features our Program Director, Mary Jackson, and two powerful voices in the field: Amy Hoyte and Shakina Drew.

Shakina Drew, a graduate of the Outdoor Leadership program and current Ph.D. student, teaches outdoor education at Weaving the Bear’s Web (bearsweb.com). She’s based on the border of Oregon and California, on the ancestral lands of the Takelma, Klamath, Grande Ronde, and Shasta peoples. Her work centers on giving voice to all those who are more-than-human and re-placing humans within the web of life.

Amy Hoyte, based just outside of Madison, Wisconsin, brings a unique lens that blends Outdoor Leadership with Therapeutic Nature-Based Wellness. Through elective coursework in the Experiential Counseling program, she’s found a powerful synergy between the two fields—one that deeply informs her work as a mental healthcare provider for Medicare enrollees through the Dane County Community Healthcare program. Amy is excited to share why this program has been such a good fit for her personal and professional growth.

Whether you’re looking to deepen your leadership skills, engage in critical discussions, or explore new career pathways in outdoor education, this is your chance to get an inside look at our program.

We look forward to seeing you there!
