Research Topic

Present research explores the intersection of Eco-spirituality, Consciousness and to what degree they play a role in the decisions we make and frameworks we build; regarding our various ecosystems, healing our planet and  the cultivation of the human spirit.

My exploration into my area of research extends from a  place of pure embodiment of both my black and indigenous heritage (Cherokee). I am profoundly interested in the heart to mind connection and how in many ways its importance appears to have been lost in many of our various sectors relative to how we make decisions.  What informs me and guides me on a daily basis is my connection to the Universal Life Force as a practicing Shaman, Healer and Eco-spiritualist, my work as a Community and Social Activist, my relationship with the earth as a Master Naturalist, and Herbalist, and my purposeful journey as an interdisciplinary Educator.

II presently reside on the land of the Lenape and Nanticoke Tribes in Wilmington Delaware and am the chief caretaker of a permaculture regenerative urban farm and healing center; which consist of a food forest hosting over 250 fruit, nut and berry trees, organically grown, harvested and sourced;’ an apothecary, apiary and nursery and an environment which supports and facilitates experiential and community-based learning, workshops and retreats.  All of what we do is predicated on the respect for and the relationship between all of earth’s sentient inhabitants and its planetary home. The tenants of the indigenous way of being and esoteric ancient wisdom play a significant role in this dance of reciprocity,

In addition, I also serve as an Adjunct Professor in the Masters in Transformative Food Systems program at Prescott College and teach as an adjunct professor at Goldey Beacom College in undergraduate through graduate programs, serving Doctorate in Business Administration Candidates as well.  I am the Co-chair of the Delaware Urban Food and Farm Coalition  ( DEUFFC.org) In addition I serve as a food safety consultant and small farm educator through the Chesapeake Agriculture Innovation Center Project Team (https://caic.org/).
