Hava hails from Syracuse, New York and earned her BA in Linguistics from Binghamton University in upstate New York. Upon graduation in 1991, she moved to Florida and later attended the University of Miami School of Law, receiving her law degree in 1996. Hava has been a practicing attorney since that time specializing in corporate and transactional law, real estate development and environmental law. She spent many years working in the retail grocery industry and puzzling through issues related to food waste.

In 2013 Hava graduated with an MBA in Sustainable Business practices from Green Mountain College and joined the Green Mountain College faculty as a Scholar in Residence in 2014 prior to coming to Prescott College in July 2019 to direct its MBA in Sustainability Leadership program and serving as Visiting Faculty thereafter.

Her various roles have combined the corporate legal industry knowledge she has built over the years with business acumen that allows her to confidently develop programming, advise students, and teach courses focused on sustainable business principles. Hava loves to connect people and develop networks for those that want to learn more about making the world a better place.
