Michelle Relyea has over 26 years of experience as a successful administrator specializing in Student Success, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. As the founding Senior Vice President for Student Success at The New School in New York City, she created the foundation for a new organization focused on enhancing the student experience and student outcomes from pre-enrollment through graduation for the university’s New York City and Paris, France campuses.
Earlier in her career, Michelle created student support for online community engagement at the University of Phoenix. As Senior Director of Career Services and Student Experience she created online career counseling and student support for undergraduates, graduate students and alumni. Michelle also worked in Graduate and International Admissions at St. Peter’s University in New Jersey.
Michelle spent fifteen years at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY, where she served as the Dean of Student Development and Retention, leading the restructure and reorganization of Academic and Instructional Resources into the Office of Student Development and Retention to create a fully integrated suite of programs, services, and support through the student’s life cycle at the university.
Michelle received her M.S.ED degree from CUNY’s Hunter College in New York City and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She has been an adjunct faculty member leading classes on Career Readiness and Workplace Dynamics. Michelle has been a featured speaker at many professional conferences, including the National Student Success Conference.
