Dr. Tara M. Gray, Clinical Faculty in the Counseling Department and Core Faculty in the MS in Counseling Programs at Prescott College, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Addiction Counselor, Licensed Professional School Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor with over 30 years of experience across settings, including private practice, university clinic and career centers, residential treatment, and K-12 schools. Dr. Gray has been teaching and supervising in graduate counseling programs since 2010 and specializes in ethical, compassionate, evidence-based counseling across diverse populations, counselor education, clinical supervision, group counseling, child and adolescent counseling, school counseling and social justice and advocacy.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Association for Play Therapy, the Colorado Providers Association, and the Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance.

Dr. Gray has taught over 80 graduate counselor education courses and has served over 5,000 clients and students to date.  She has presented over 50 presentations and has published 13 articles on best practices in counseling, counselor education and group work at local, state, regional, national and international conferences.  She has earned 7 awards and written 22 grants funded at over half a million dollars.  Dr. Gray has also served in over 30 different professional service volunteer leadership roles.  Dr. Gray serves clients in her private practice, Dr. Tara Gray Counseling & Wellness, in Telluride, Colorado.  Additionally, she has presented, published, received awards from, or volunteered with all of the following professionals organizations with which she is also a member: The American Counseling Association, Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, American School Counselor Association, Association for Specialists in Group Work, Association for Play Therapy, Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling, Counselors for Social Justice, The Rocky Mountain Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and the Colorado School Counselor Association.
