Nicole Schutzbank, LPC, LCAT, ATR-BC, is an art therapist and counselor with years of professional experience working with diverse populations and settings. She has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in psychiatric hospitals, inpatient substance abuse treatment, partial hospitalization programming, skilled nursing/memory care, and a community clinic. Nicole works in private practice, utilizing integrative approaches with art therapy and counseling. Nicole moved to Tucson, Arizona, from Long Island, New York, where she was born and raised. She received her undergraduate degree at Pace University in New York City, majoring in Art History and Studio Art. Combining her passion for visual art and psychology, she earned her Master’s in Clinical Art Therapy and Counseling at Long Island University in Brookville, New York. She is a doctoral student at the University of the Cumberlands, majoring in Counselor Education and Supervision. Nicole is a dual-state licensed therapist. She is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) in New York, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a clinical supervisor in Arizona. She is also a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC) through the Art Therapy Credentials Board, the highest credential you can earn as an art therapist. Nicole strives to support students’ growth and professional identity and advocates for using expressive arts therapy. She hopes to help professionals navigate state licensure and expressive arts therapy/art therapy credential processes.
