Dr. Omar Husain is a Clinical Faculty member at Prescott College. He completed a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is also a religious scholar (Imam) in the Islamic faith. Dr. Husain’s research interests include addictions, spirituality in counseling, grief and trauma, and clergy mental health. Dr. Husain is passionate about helping to remove stigma from seeking mental services for minority populations. He works closely with the American Muslim community in shaping and developing religiously and culturally sensitive mental health treatment programs. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (TX) and is pursuing further training in integrative mental health, which includes physical, mental, and nutritional wellness.
