Tara Darby, Ph.D., is a highly experienced and licensed professional in the field of counseling and mental health. With a strong educational background, including a Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision from the University of South Carolina/Columbia, she has dedicated her career to helping individuals and promoting the well-being of diverse populations.
Currently serving as Clinical Faculty at Prescott College and the Practicum and Internship Coordinator, Dr. Darby brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. She has also held teaching positions, including Adjunct in the Mental Health/School Counseling program at Winthrop University.
Dr. Darby’s extensive experience includes working as a clinical mental health counselor in a prominent school district in South Carolina. She has also owned and operated two counseling practices, Enough Counseling Services, LLC., and Victoria Counseling, Coaching, & Supervision, LLC. Her private practice work has allowed her to make a significant impact on the lives of her clients.
Dr. Darby spent over 13 years as a public school counselor and also served as a substance abuse counselor. This diverse background has provided her with a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the challenges that individuals face in various settings.
With a combined experience of over 23 years in the field of counseling and mental health, Dr. Darby is passionate about several important causes. She is a strong advocate for women’s issues, social justice, suicide prevention, and multicultural diversity and acceptance. Additionally, she emphasizes the importance of self-care and encourages individuals to prioritize their mental and emotional well-being.
Having lived in nine different states as a military dependent, Dr. Darby brings a rich cultural perspective to her work. Currently residing in North Carolina, she continues to make a positive impact in her community and beyond.
Dr. Darby’s dedication to her profession, commitment to social justice, and advocacy for self-care make her a valuable asset to the field of counseling and mental health. Her expertise and passion contribute to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for individuals seeking help and healing.
