Will began his education at John Carroll University in Ohio where he majored in Psychology and minored in Philosophy. In 2010, Will traveled to South Carolina to attend Winthrop University where he achieved his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a 4.0 GPA. While at Winthrop University, he worked as a Graduate Assistant and helped to create the Academic Success Center currently being utilized by hundreds of Winthrop students. Will also served as a Chaplaincy Intern at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC where he worked in the Emergency Room, the Adult Psychiatric Ward and throughout the hospital as a Grief Counselor for the dying and the families of the recently deceased.

Soon after graduation from Winthrop University, Will and his wife decided to join the Peace Corps. During the long and arduous year and a half application process, Will worked as a One-on-One Assistant for a student with Cerebral Palsy. In 2015, he and his wife moved to Albania as Peace Corps Volunteers where they proudly served for 27 months. While living in the small mountainous village of Kelcyre, Will and his wife built a library at the local high school, built a playground for the city’s children, created an organization they called HERO4 for Albania’s youth, and headed a world-wide Peace Corps Initiative called Student Friendly Schools. They also taught English in the local schools and health in the local hospitals.

Upon returning from Albania, Will received a job at Vocational Rehabilitation of South Carolina where he worked in York County and Chester County high schools as a Transition Counselor. Will gained even more experience working with children and adolescents while serving the special needs population of the five schools to which he was assigned. He worked with teachers, school administration, school counselors and parents to develop future career, educational and life goals. Will provided counseling and guidance to his caseload of 100+ students and taught activities to promote employability skills, self-advocacy, leadership, self-awareness, and virtue.

With a desire to work with a more diverse population and conduct more in-depth therapy, Will gained his licensure though South Carolina as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and worked with multiple private agencies before finding his perfect fit with Dr. Beth Wilson and Thrive Family Services, Inc. After two difficult years, Will was honored to call himself a fully licensed professional counselor. Always moving forward, Will chose to take on a Supervisory role and after two years of supervision has now become a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. He is adept at offering therapy to children, adolescents and adults with an array of diagnoses. Will has found his passion and specializes in working with adolescents with trauma and/or ADHD/anger issues, individuals with special needs, individuals with depression/anxiety, as well as grief counseling for all ages. He is an Integrative Counselor. Will has used his nine years of clinical experience to create his own specific approach to therapy which mainly focuses on developing self-love and self-awareness by fostering a safe place of love and compassion in his office. Will utilizes clinically researched interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt, Person-Centered, Somatic Therapies, and Existential Therapy, as necessary, to address each patient’s specific needs. Will is able to offer individual, family and couple’s counseling as well as clinical supervision.

Will was offered a teaching position as an Adjunct Professor with Prescott College in the Summer of 2024. He has found a new passion in teaching students the art of counseling through the Practicum and Internship courses he teaches. He has realized that not only do his students learn from him, but he learns from his students’ diverse perspectives and theoretical orientations. Will was honored to receive a full-time teaching position with Prescott College as an Associate Professor in the Summer of 2025. He continues to grow as a Counselor and Professor through his recent academic presentations including, “The “L” Word: A Taboo of Psychotherapy” and “The Art of Challenging: The Realities of Creating Therapeutic Depth”.
