Mike is a faculty member for the Adventure Education on campus undergraduate program where he teaches a variety of field-based and classroom-based courses. He also teaches for the Outdoor Leadership Master’s program and the Sustainability Education Ph.D. program.
Teaching Interests: Teaching and Facilitating Outdoor Adventure Education Experiences; Climbing-related field courses; Origins and Future Directions of the Outdoor Adventure Education Field; Positive Youth Development. Research Interests: My research focuses on outdoor adventure education, positive youth development for adolescents and young adults, and the mechanisms that promote learning during these types of experiences.
