Dr.Scott Ramsey (he/him) serves as core faculty of Prescott College’s Sustainability Education doctoral program, where he teaches a diverse array of courses including Climate Advocacy and Praxis, Sustainability Principles and Practice, and Academic Writing. His enduring passion for the natural world informs his educational approach, motivating him to engage and inspire students in their journeys toward creating a sustainable and equitable future through education and stewardship.
With decades of experience as a wilderness guide and environmental educator, Scott founded the Alaska Outdoor Science School, which is dedicated to honoring the wisdom of nature by offering immersive, multi-day experiences that emphasize the nexus between social and environmental justice. Through these initiatives, Scott aims to empower students and the broader community to appreciate and advocate for the environment, fostering a sense of responsibility and action towards sustainability.
Scott is interested in a wide array of topics including the Human-Nature Connection, Climate Advocacy, Neuro-conservation, Ecological Literacy, and finding ways to Celebrate Nature’s Wisdom
